The hyaluronic acid-based filler is a non-permanent treatment widely used in various fields of medicine and which has been widely used in aesthetic medicine for several years. Since the fillers are resorbable, the surgery is reversible.

Hyaluronic acid is already present in the human body and is therefore compatible with all skin types.

Depending on the needs of the patient and the area to be treated, the doctor will use a specific filler based on hyaluronic acid. Low-density fillers are mainly used for small surface corrections, such as slightly pronounced wrinkles or crow’s feet, while the high-intensity ones are used to increase volume and fill marked furrows and are injected at a greater depth.

Hyaluronic acid hardly causes allergic reactions, but this treatment is not recommended for atopic subjects, pregnant, with severe dermatitis or with autoimmune diseases.

Furthermore, it is advisable not to undergo treatments that interfere with normal skin conditions, such as lasers, a few days before the procedure and not to expose the affected area to the sun or heat sources for 2-3 days after the procedure treatment.
